Included:
Guided birding for 9 days.
Lodging for eight nights including one night in Seattle, three nights at Juan de Fuco Cottages, two nights at Manitou Lodge and two nights at Chateau Westport.
Meals beginning with dinner on the first night through breakfast on the final day.

Sept. 11 - Arrive in Seattle-Tacoma (SEA-TAC). We will meet at the airport and drive to our hotel on Bainbridge Island. The ferry provides a nice view of Seattle. After we get checked in, we’ll enjoy a welcome dinner and review our plans for the week.
Sept. 12 - Sequim. We’ll make several stops on our way to Sequim where we’ll check into our rooms at the beautiful Juan de Fuca Cottages, our base for the next three days.
Sept. 13 - Hurricane Ridge and Dungeness Spit. In the morning we will drive to Hurricane Ridge, 5,200 feet above sea level offering amazing views of the San Juan Islands. We’ll look for Sooty Grouse, Canada Jay Vaux’s Swift and others.
Sept. 14 - Dungeness, Port Angeles and Costal Birding. Shorebirds, gulls, alcids and maybe even a Harlequin Duck! We’ll take our time exploring this scenic area.
Sept. 15 - Neah Bay and the NW Point. We’ll explore the coast as we make our way to Cape Flattery, the furthest northwest point of the continental U.S. There’s a terrific restaurant right on the water where we can have lunch and then look for migrant warblers. We’ll stay at the beachside Hobuck Resort operated by the local MaKah Tribe.
Sept. 16 - Hoh Rainforest. The largest and northernmost temperate rainforest in the U.S. and one of the rainiest places in America. Sitka Spruce, Western Hemlock, Coastal Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar are covered in moss and lichens. Birds too! Pileated Woodpecker, Olive-sided Flycatcher, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, Pacific Wren, Varied Thrush and possibly American Dipper.
We’ll spend the night in Forks, where the Twilight TV series was filmed.
Sept. 17 - Pacific Coast en route to Westport. We’ll explore the many beaches and visit the largest known Sitka Spruce on our way to Westport. Before dinner, we’ll stop at a local birding spot to see if we can find any Bar-tailed Godwits in the large flock of Marbled Godwits that often winter here.
Sept. 18 - Pelagic Birding. Some of our hoped-for species will be Black-footed Albatross, Northern Fulmar, Sooty, Pink-footed, Flesh-footed, Short-tailed and Buller’s Shearwaters, South Polar Skua, Sabine’s Gull, Common Murre, Rhinoceros Auklet and hopefully Tufted Puffin…
Sept. 19 - Drive to Seattle and Departures please book afternoon flights out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
